For: Super I just wanna play the needle game
The longest and worst game from the just wanna play series. I am a sucker for the original trilogy, i genuinely believe they are good games for what they set out to do: provide you with an incredible amount of rooms, lots of which feature a different layout and different "gimmicks": giant delfruits replacing spikes, RNG spike direction, many no save rooms one after another and the occasional hundred rooms of +1. Hell, just wanna play 3 even introduces an "hub"! it was genuinely intriguing seeing it slowly but surely become more and more populated with portals and seeing new entrances open.
Super just wanna play throws everything out of the window.
It starts off with 100 easy rooms that get randomly chosen until you clear 500 rooms. The rooms are nice and simple, and are genuinely fun to go through, wondering how the game will continue, if a new hub will be introduced.
Upon reaching room 501, everything goes stale. Rooms stop being creative and having different layouts until the very end: the game will turn into nothing but a time waster. Walk right rooms with a single jump in it, and when you clear that stage, you enter purgatory, and what you will play for the next 2500 Screens: +1's.
No more different layouts, simple gimmicks, no. You will be repeating the same jump over and over with 1 spike being added each time until the whole screen is filled; some of these are actually HARD, like the 16px spam: 80ish screens of spammed 16px's, with a single spike being added each room, getting increasingly harder due to the consistency required.
The +1 rooms with actual needle screens are in no way better. They will start adding actual needles for the first hundred rooms, then completely go in the "fuck you, do that 100 more times" territory for the rest of it, only adding a single significant jump every 50 rooms or so, spending the other 49 screens adding spikes just to fill corners and drag the game's length further. Doesnt help the fact that they get HARD. Look at the screenshot with the green background to see the hardest +1 section in the game, you will have to do that 70 TIMES.
Upon clearing that and going onto the 3rd to last stage, the maker, unhappy, decided to put his own spin into the +1 formula, you now have a fixed number of jumps for 10 rooms. Upon clearing said rooms, some spikes will be added. Repeat for 40/50/60 (depending on how many jumps the author decided to add each iteration) until you start over.
Once you beat that you will be already past room 3000; the second to last stage will give you some free rooms with a single jump in the middle, consisting mainly on some variants of gates/diamonds.
After doing that for 100ish rooms, you will be against the final +1. Not much to comment on it, other than the fact its easier than the green one and will even give you a save in the middle of it for 80% of the rooms. (even after taking it out for a bit??? meaning the rooms in the middle are the hardest since the final rooms have 2 saves instead of one????)
For the final 15 rooms, you enter hell. The game stops kidding around and puts you to the ultimate test, no more time wasting:
Terrible needle , a LOT of required 2f's and nerfed tas's (that are still hard), 90% of the difficult saves will be made of that.
Thought that was bad?
The 5 rooms before the final room will be big rooms, meaning the camera will follow the kid while he jumps through very precise jumps.
Thats where i decided to quit, at room 3294, just 6 rooms away from the end, and after spending 38 hours on the game. The camera movement making those really precise jumps even harder for me was not worth the grind.
I might go back and finish the game sometime, but for the time being, Opanker will remain the sole victor of this needle hell.
Difficulty has been rated as 90 because of the patience required to go thorugh the thousands of room, i agree with opanker's rating for raw difficulty of the final rooms.
All that being said, i still hope for a just wanna play the needle game 4, i'd LOVE that, and i'm saying this without a single shred of sarcasm, but for the love of god, no super just wanna play 2.
Stay away from this unless you can handle awkward needle so that you dont waste 30+ hours like i did.
For: I Wanna Be The SolennFan
For the maker: defo try to mix things together: going from a room where every single jump is a trap to one with none is questionable game design when theres no sort of transition inbetween, furthermore, try to explore an idea/theme fully before moving on: having you enter a cave right before the game ends abruptly is another ehhhh moment of the game.
Other than that, i see the potential, the traps are smart and you obviously know what you're doing, keep it up!

Movie yep game that has you walk a straight line until the rng gods grace you and let you win.
The UFOs will drop really small particles that will kill you, but you can just hold right and press R when needed until you win. The song comes from the movie and is kinda nice. I know 20th century boys is a really great manga too, so definitively check this out if you're a fan!
